Docent Training - 2024/2025 School Year
Thank you for signing up to be a classroom docent at your school! We are incredibly grateful for your time and dedication. It’s because of wonderful volunteers like you that we can continue to bring our art education program to students. 

Art Vistas offers training twice a year for all Art Vistas docents in the Union School District and out-of-district schools.
Training for Sets ABC is in September 2024. See schedule below.
Training for Sets DEF will be in January 2025. January training details and RSVP form will be provided in December 2024.

Training Schedule - September 2024
All training is conducted in person at the Dartmouth Middle School cafeteria (5575 Dartmouth Drive, San Jose, CA 95118). 

General Training - Monday, September 16 - 6:30-7:00 p.m.
Grade Level Training (TK-2) - Monday, September 16 - 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Grade Level Training (3-5) -  Wednesday, September 18 - 7:00-8:00 p.m.

General Training
New docents are strongly encouraged to attend one of the general training sessions. In the 30 minute training,  you will learn about the art terminology and concepts covered in the Art Vistas curriculum and tips and tricks for classroom management. 

Grade-Level Training
Grade-level training is for all docents at each grade level.  The training sessions are extremely important and helpful -- someone from your class must attend. During grade-level training, you will receive a curriculum handout for each set and be trained to lead your class through each lesson (or set), including discussion of the art prints and conducting the projects.
